Tags help you identify recurring themes, track sentiment, and accelerate your analysis. Looppanel offers you two ways of adding tags - auto-analysis, and manually added tags!
At any point in time, you can tag data by either searching through existing tags in your project or can create new tags based on your preferred taxonomy or research framework. These tags can be edited or deleted any time, giving you full control over your data.
What Are Tags?
Tags are labels you can attach to notes from your user research. They help you categorize data points by themes, features, user needs, or any taxonomy you’ve developed for your research project.
Why Tagging Matters
Tagging helps you move from raw data to patterns and insights faster. Whether you’re preparing a report or looking for repeated pain points, tagging is your best friend for qualitative analysis.
How to add Tags in Looppanel
There are two ways to add tags on Looppanel:
1. Manually Added Tags
These are tags you create manually and add to a note.
Step 1: Look at the right-hand-side, after your file has been processed
Hover on the note you’re interested in tagging and click on the Tag button which will give you an option to either search from a list of already existing tags in this project, or create a tag.
.
Step 2: Add a Tag
If you want to use an existing tag, simply select it from the drop down list
If you want to create a new tag, type out the name of the tag and press enter
Step 3: Edit, Manage, or Delete Tags
All tags are editable. You can rename them or delete them.
When you click the Tags button, you can see “Manage Project Tags”, which you can then click to clean up or refine your tag list.
2. Auto-Analyze (AI Suggested Tags)
We understand that sifting through countless data points can get overwhelming—that’s why Looppanel includes an intelligent ‘Auto-Analyze’ feature that instantly highlights key themes, so you can dive into analysis faster and with more clarity.
This AI-powered feature automatically identifies key themes and adds relevant tags to your notes.
You’ll see a list of suggested tags based themes the AI has detected in your project.
You can verify these suggestions and decide whether you would like to keep them, edit them, or add your own to the list.
With your feedback, Looppanel will assign tags to the notes based on what you’re looking for.
Don’t worry—you can always edit, delete, or build upon these AI-suggested tags!
How to Auto-Tag Notes on Looppanel
Step 1: When you click on the “Analysis” button on the top Right hand side of your Video Page, you will be directed to the Analysis Page
Step 2 : You can click on the “Auto-Analyze” Button to generate auto-tags
You will see a pop up of AI-Suggested tags which you have full control over - you can change the name of the tag or its description, or even delete any tag which you don’t find useful
You can also add a new tag here
Step 3 : Proceed to Auto-Analyze
It takes ~5-10 minutes for Looppanel to go through all your calls and tag your notes.
To view the complete set of tagged data, go to ‘Analysis’ → ‘Tag View’. The tags will also reflect on your notes in other views (‘Question View’ or an individual call page).
Voila! You didn’t even have to wait to identify patterns and themes within the responses, and you now have a great starting point to deep dive into your analysis!
Remember, AI is your companion. We do recommend you review its work, edit and remove tags as required. While AI is very efficient, you have a lot more context on the project.
