What are AI Notes?
AI Notes on Looppanel built to do what your teammates are often bad at: give you well-written notes for each user research session, organized by your interview discussion guide.

Why are AI Notes helpful?
AI Notes act like a virtual research assistant, taking notes on your behalf. This feature can save you significant amounts of time during and after interviews by organizing and summarizing responses automatically.

How to Generate AI Notes on Looppanel
Creating AI Notes on Looppanel is easy:
Step 1: Add your Discussion Guide.
Although this step is optional, adding your discussion guide allows us to auto-allocate your notes by question. This makes the AI notes much more powerful for you!

Step 2: Call Upload or Recording
The first step in generating AI Notes is uploading a call or having Looppanel record the call for you.
Click the Upload button inside your project or on the home screen to upload a call.
If recording a call, simply paste the link into Looppanel to start recording.
Step 3: AI Note Generation
Once the call has been uploaded or recorded, Looppanel’s AI gets to work. It processes the recording and automatically generates AI Notes within minutes.
🕐 Processing Time:
For a 30-minute call, AI Notes typically generate in 3-5 minutes.
For a 60-minute call, AI Notes usually take 5-10 minutes.
During this time, the AI system analyzes the conversation and creates structured notes for you.
Note: If you’ve uploaded a recording in a non-English language, translate the recording to English first, to generate AI notes on Looppanel. Translation features are available on Looppanel’s Pro plan and above.
How AI Notes Appear in Looppanel
AI Notes appear in your Looppanel workflow in several ways:
Transcript highlights: AI Notes are marked as highlights within your transcript. This provides you with immediate visual cues to essential insights.
Click the “AI note” icon next to your transcript to jump to the relevant summarized note on the right hand side.
Right-hand side (RHS) display: Alongside transcript highlights, AI Notes can also be found on the right side of your screen. This ensures they are accessible at any point during your review.

Tagging, Sharing Video Clips & Making Highlight Reels
All notes are video clips by default. You can click on the “share” icon when you hover on a note to access the clip link or download it.

Making the most of AI Notes
While AI Notes are a powerful feature, there are some limitations to bear in mind:
AI Notes are currently only available in English. Translate calls in other languages to generate AI notes for them (here is how Looppanel supports translation from other languages)
The quality of guide assignment is dependent on how descriptive your guide is. Single-word sections can confuse the AI model. For example, follow-up questions like “Why” or “Can you tell me more about that?” will not perform well. Adding context to them so Looppanel understands what you’re looking for (e.g., “Can you tell me more about the Slack integration feature?”) will perform better.
Maintaining language consistency between your discussion guide and the language used during the interviews enhances the performance of AI Notes. For example, if you use an abbreviation like 'RFP' in your conversation but not in the discussion guide (or vice-versa), the model will have a harder time allocating your notes correctly.
If some sections in your discussion guide repeat or are very similar, this can impact guide assignment accuracy. For example, if in a concept test you have multiple questions asking “How do you feel about this?”, Looppanel doesn’t know where to put your notes. Instead try to include context in your questions to improve results (e.g., “How do you feel about the Concept with ABC feature?”)
The AI Notes feature is optimized for user interviews. Sessions that don't follow this format may experience lower accuracy or quality.
In general, think about the AI note-taker like a junior research assistant or a lay person. If someone with less than complete context on your business can map the notes to the right question correctly, the AI model will as well.
