Looppanel supports multiple file formats for user research data, allowing you to centralize, analyze, and generate insights from various sources. This article explains how to upload different file types and how Looppanel processes each format.

🎥 Upload Audio/Video Files

Upload user interview recordings for full transcription and analysis.

To upload a recording:

  1. Open your project in Looppanel

  2. Click Upload File

  3. Select Upload Audio/Video File

  4. Choose a file from your computer

Supported formats: .mov, .mp4, .m4a, .mp3, .wav, .aac

File limits: Max 2 hours, up to 4 GB

Once uploaded, Looppanel will transcribe the file and make it available for analysis, annotation, and insight generation.

💡 Pro Tip: For future interviews, invite Looppanel to record directly on Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams (Learn how to record user interviews here - Recording User Interviews)—or import past Zoom recordings with one click (Learn more → One-click import Zoom call recordings)

📄 Upload Transcript Files

Already have a machine-generated transcript (like from Zoom)? You can upload it directly into Looppanel.

To upload a transcript:

  1. Go to the Home tab

  2. Click Upload File

  3. Select Upload Transcript and copy-paste the transcript text in

  4. Click ‘Save Transcript’

Make sure your transcript includes:

✔ Timestamps

✔ Speaker labels (e.g., “Speaker A:”)

⚠️ Note: If your transcript doesn’t have timestamps or speaker labels, upload it as Notes instead.

To upload notes:

Upload short-form open-text survey responses for large-scale analysis (like app reviews, NPS verbatims, or open-ended feedback).

To upload a CSV:

  1. Export the CSV from your survey tool (e.g., Typeform)

  2. Inside your project, click Upload File

  3. Select Upload CSV

  4. Choose your file

  5. Select the column(s) with open-text responses when prompted

Looppanel will analyze your data and surface trends, including citations and topic frequency.

💬 Frequently Asked Questions

Can I directly sync my existing repository in GDrive for uploading historical calls?

  • Looppanel offers direct Google Drive synchronization within the Enterprise Plan.

Can I get onboarding assistance to bulk import historical files into Looppanel?

  • Yes, we provide White Glove onboarding services in our Enterprise plan. In this plan, the Looppanel team will automatically port the data from your current tool to Looppanel and ensure it’s searchable from Day 1.

  • If you’re interested in the Enterprise plan, please contact us at [email protected] or book a demo with us here

Why do I need to identify the file type? It is confusing.

  • Looppanel prompts you to identify the type of file because it processes data differently based on the information type. For example, it looks for speaker labels and timestamps in a transcript, whereas it wouldn't do that in notes or secondary research. Selecting the correct file type ensures optimal processing and analysis of your data.

Can I import meetings from platforms other than Zoom?

  • Yes! As part of the Enterprise Plan, we offer other integrations as well! You can import meetings not only from Zoom but Google Drive, DScout, UserTesting.com and more. Contact us at [email protected] to discuss additional integrations.

Can I upload a doc?

  • Yes, you can upload text files to Looppanel in two ways:

    1. If you want Looppanel to analyze and auto-tag your notes, copy paste the text file data into a ‘Note’ document

    2. If you simply want to store the data and make it searchable within Looppanel, you can also upload it as a PDF file.
